Oh, I see "Gun" is out on MySpace! So I allowed myself to listen to the better version because it is officially available. But MySpace sound quality is baaad. I listened once, no more until I have the actual album in my hands.

About the song, I liked it of course. However, I was waiting for it to explode with drums, more instruments, more voice and a lot of action. But it didn't. So that disappoinded me a little. I loved the bass, though, which is unusual for Emiliana. I also noticed the bass at the 30 second previews we found earlier too, and I got high expectations. I will give "Gun" several more chances later.

Gun is a great track....it does feel like it should indeed 'explode with drums'...even if it then just carries on as it does but louder or something....perhaps something for Mark Ronson to bugger about with!!!

I really like "Dead Duck", with its off beat and the noise. And "Birds" reminds me somehow of Supertramp...strange, but I like it

Had my inaugral on-bike listen to the album today....and did so for four hours!!

Love the little noises she makes on Gun...love Hold Heart, such a shame it lasts just two minutes, love all the songs I've already said I love.

So basically I think the album is fabulous and I can't wait to buy it!!!

Hello, everyone!

I'm new here, as you might see. Not brand new though, I've been visiting this site from the beginning of my fanhood.
I'm a fan of Emilíana only since December 2006, but since then I got hold of every single song I could find and she's kind of my favourite now. Yeah, I'm a n00b, but believe me I'm as hardcore a fan as any of you.
(except I have never ever seen her live, but I do hope I'll have the chance to when she promotes her new album *fingerscrossed* )

I'd just like to say how I feel about this new album. I simply can't keep it in, I'm gonna explode!

At first listen I found it... well... unusual. But I kinda expected that. I mean 'Crouçie d'où là' was totally different from 'Merman' and so was 'Merman' from LITTOS and so was LITTOS from 'Fisherman's Woman'. So I thought it was kind of logical that this one should also be different from the last one.

My first E.T. album was 'Fisherman's Woman'. And I had the very same experience with that one I had with 'Me and Armini'. First listen: I was thinking, yeah, nice, but overall nothing remarkable, some catchy tunes here and there, nothing more. But then I suddenly fell under the spell, started listening to it like mad.
Then quickly bought LITTOS. Which was totally unexpected. I thought it was gonna be at least similar 'Fisherman's Woman'. It wasn't. And to my surprise, I truly liked it.

Then I listened to Emilíana for about three months without a pause. Literally without a pause. I remember, on New Year's Eve 2006/2007 I was listening to Emilíana all the time then walked home listening to her music.
I have the nasty habit of falling asleep to music, and it was Emilíana's voice which lulled me to sleep those three months.

And even now, I hardly live a day withouth listening to her music. So the news of a new album coming were most welcome. In fact I can hardly wait till 8th September.
(Though, sadly, I doubt that I'll be able to buy it the exact day, both because I'm gonna be abroad and because it'll most likely take some time for it to be available in Hungary. I'm gonna be in Poland on 8th September, any Polish fans here? Do you think it's gonna be available there on that day? )

So, here's this new album, I listened to it and thought: "Yeah, I thought it was gonna be different. But I thought I was gonna like it. ".
But all of a sudden the magic happened yet again, I totally fell in love with it, I'm listening to it this very moment, for the mmmty-mmmth time. I lost count at 13.

Quick review:
Fireheads is a lovely track to begin an album with, I adore it, it's also quite nostalgic.
Me and Armini is very catchy, at first it felt very alien, then I grew to like it very much indeed. I like the fact that her new music uses more bass .
Birds is simply charming. One of the most 'Fisherman's Woman'-ish tracks on the album IMHO.
Heard it All Before is a track that I fell in love with the first few seconds of the first listen. I like the way it's arranged.
I can't understand why some people find Ha Ha a disgrace, I think it's one of the most brilliant tracks on the album.
Big Jumps is a song I can't say anything new about, really. I haven't seen a single negative remark on it anywhere.
Jungle Drum made me grin the first listen. The lyrics are a bit silly, but I like it nonetheless.
Hold Heart reminds me a bit of Fisherman's Woman, maybe because it's so short. And maybe because it's strenght's mainly in its lyrics not the melody. Which still is great though.
Gun is the only song I have a split mind about. I like it. I just find it a bit monotoneous it being nearly 6 minutes long.
Beggar's Prayer is not quite how I imagined the whole track to be. It was a pleasant surprise though.
Dead Duck is very surprising for me, cause I can't really put my finger on it how a song so repetitious and long be so bloody enjoyable.
Bleeder is adorable, again a hint of Fisherman's Woman.

I don't think I've seen anyone comment on Ha Ha yet....certainly no negative comments...maybe because few have heard it, but I reckon Jungle Drums will be the one with the most opinions either way as it is rather different to anything else since the Merman album....or Come Out

Yes, Jungle Drum is the most "poppy" track on the new album IMHO, I like it though, the thing I'm not quite comfortable with is the way she changes key in the ending part. But that's something I can easily get used to.

And what do you think about the lyrics? I've tried to make a transcription, but there are a few lines I can't seem to make out...

Thank you for your corrections, it's indeed "park", I'm kinda deaf I think. XD

And yes, I heard "'sieve" too, then thought "sieve? but that doesn't make any sense at all"
Now I'm like "Gosh, *headdesk* it is indeed meaningful"

I corrected these ones, also I think maybe it's "Make your trees they dress in cones" in Bleeder.
